After the breakup


How do you plan to deal with your breakup?  

Do you make rules to follow?  Do you want revenge?  Does one of you blame the other?  What good things can you take from the relationship?

Having someone to help you through the transition of breakup makes it much easier and takes away some of the emotions, as you are guided to your new life.

Give yourself time to mourne.  This means withdrawing from social activities.  In our hurried culture, the concept of mourning has not been given the space it should.  The withdrawal allows the emotional-mental system to re-adjust to the changes that have taken place.  If there has been a shock, with sudden happenings, then the need for space is greater, and also the need to take time to re-adjust by talking through the losses and changes.
